Mark 11: 15-18
And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple. And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
The Lord Jesus is a man of character: while He walked on the earth, He was someone who stood for what is right, His zeal for God and His house is what drove Him (John 2: 17).
Having said the above, it is important to realize that every time one chooses to stand for what is right or for the truth, you will always without doubt face opposition. This is because… the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not (John 1: 5) and because… light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God (John 3: 19-21).
Most people (including Christians) have become accustomed to succumbing to illicit ways of doing things and many others benefit from such, therefore, whenever you stand, you become light and darkness will resist you.
Dear reader, lets choose to stand and to be like our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, let us decide to be the salt in this world and lights that are not hidden.
Joshua 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Be Blessed
